San Francisco

So sorry that this is months late!! But I was uploading pictures from my camera and I realized that I never uploaded my San Francisco pictures from Spring Break. So without further delay, may I present San Francisco:

Out Flight was delayed, and thus the wait began....
(but at least I got the bulk of AP Euro homework done!)

China Town:

The Scream by Munch, do you recognize it? And the Picasso?

Seriously could their eyes be any bigger?!?

We saw Willy Brown, San Francisco's last mayor, here while Mom and I had lunch!

Pier 39:

Those are walruses there.
& it wasn't foggy, the windows of the boat were just REALLY dirty!

Did you know that Nana and Papa (AND Mom) knew the man that was the architect of the Transam building? (It's the pointy building on the left)

If we lived in San Francisco I would want to live in this neighborhood! Too bad it's expensive and parking is hard to come by.

And that was our stay at San Francisco, it really was very nice and I can't wait to go back some day!

Getting Ready for Girls Camp!!

So this year for Girls Camp I am a YCL (Youth Camp Leader) and I'm soo excited!! I want to make this camp really special for my girls and me and my other YCLs have some big things planned. But here are a  few of the things that I've done for Girls Camp:

A sign to go outside of our cabin door that has all the girls & YCLs names on it that are in our cabin.

A little name plate that the girls can hang by their beds so everyone can get to know everyone's name.
(The stake mixed up all the girls in the stake so it is possible that the girls don't know each other, thus the name plates. And I don't know any of them either, so this way I can learn their names!)

And journals and flower pens that I made, you know for journal time.

And finally the megaphone. The theme of Girls Camp is Arise and Shine Forth, but it will also go well in the morning when we are yelling/singing at them "RISE AND SHINE AND GIVE GOD YOUR MORNING GLORY!!!!!" over and over again.  :)

Girls Camp here we come!!

My Bucket List

So I've decided to start my own bucket list and these are two destinations that have made the list:

The Neuschwanstein Castle in Germany.
Doesn't it look like a fairytale castle? Absolutely gorgeous and stunning in the snow, don't you think?
(P.S. It is the Sleeping Beauty castle)

AND

The Sahara Desert.
This sunrise is absolutely breathtaking if you ask me.

Breathtaking...

So on Friday night Mom, Dad, Tessa, and I saw Les Miserables. It was beautiful and amazing, and yes I cried basically through the whole second act. But it goes right up there as one of my favorites, it was truly an inspiring night.

From the beginning of the first act I forgot about anything and everything and let the cast take me on this journey with them through this story. When they were sad I was sad, when they laughed (which was rare) I laughed, when they cried I cried. It was absolutely mesmerizing and Jean Valjean was absolutely amazing. His voice captivated me from the very beginning and every time he opened his mouth I was in awe and was so thrilled that I got to listen to him.

Then after the performance a few members of the cast, Jean Valjean, Fantine, Thenardier, and the conductor, had a Q&A for those in the audience who wanted to stay. It was so much fun to hear them talk about life on the road, the audition process, what they do, mess ups they've had while performing and how they handled it, and all sorts of stuff like that. From the beginning of Act I to the end of the Q&A I was hypnotized. I had a wonderful night and I'm so glad that I was able to see the show and I can't wait for the movie which comes out this December!!

P.S. If you haven't seen Hugh Jackman's wife please look her up, they make me so happy! (This goes with Les Miserables because Hugh Jackman is playing Jean Valjean :)

summer...

Sorry that I've been so bad about regularly posting, I'll try to get better I promise! But in my defense I have been busy, all though I know that all of you have been terribly busy too. But I just wanted to make the announcement that I'm heading into the last 4 days of Sophomore year and am heading into the beginning of my Junior year!! Can you believe it? And my 17th birthday is in 2 months almost to the day!! And two more years and I'll be a college freshman, hopefully at BYU, Provo (fingers crossed).

But in other good news, guess who got a 105% on her Organic Chemistry test? This girl!! And I have an A in AP Euro!! It's been a good year. :)

Well Summer is nearly here and with that all sorts of wonderful things such as spending time with all of you at some time or another in the next 3 months. Love you all!!
